FROM SWITZERLAND WITH LOVE

My bits from beautiful Switzerland are basically loads of Lindt chocolates, some vanilla and cherry cokes and beauty related goodies. I stocked up in nail polishes. I brought with me Mavala glitter ones, two of the Essie Luxeffects edition and the OPI 'I'm not really a waitress'. But I must say that my favourite purchase was the Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret. I love Nars but, unfortunately we don't have it in Portugal. When I saw their Christmas releases, I knew I had to indulge and this set stole my heart immediately. I absolutely love the range of shades available, they really do have all bases covered with a nude, my-lips-but-better, neon brights and a vampy red. Three of the five shades are actually limited edition (Torres del Paine, Descanso and Iberico) which made me want this set even more. And while I'm writing this post and raving about these goodies, some serious candy went down.

SONIA RYKIEL SS15 GOES DOUBLE TROUBLE

images via Dazed Digital

Sonial Rykel casts Elizabeth and Georgia May Jagger for the Paris brand's latest campaign. Juergen Teller shot the two sisters around Parisian 6th arrondissement. In fact, not too unlike the streets that the Jagger sister's mother, Jerry Hall, probably walked down back in the day when she modelled for Rykiel. Nothing like keeping it modern, sexy and in the family right?!

MARSALA IN THE REAL LIFE

all images via Tumblr and Pinterest

Marsala is Spring 2015 Pantone color of the year and an earthy wine red is the perfect pick. I'm not a fan of red, never was, but this this warm, full bodied tone works just fine for me. We all hola for Marsala?!

Have a lovely week y'all.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

Nothing like some pale pink and embelishments to spice up a little this rainy Tuesday. Today's #tbt features, again, the italian house Miu Miu. Delfine Bafort wears Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2009 in 'The Miu Age' by Ben Toms for Dazed & Confused, August 2013.

MY TOP 5 2014 BEAUTY DISCOVERIES

If I had to pick just five things that I’ve discovered this year that really rock my boat, then they would be the following…

The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub  |   It could be the Mango one or the Raspberry scrub. They're all amazing with this gorgeously jammy smoothing  texture. And the smell, oh the smell.

Benefit Gimme Brow   |   Probably my favourite of the whole year. It really sticks to the skin and hair, working perfectly on oily skin type and creates brows where before there were none. It's so easy to apply and gives me the perfect shape and color to my brows.

Sephora Collection Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color  |  I love lipsticks and I have a huge collection of them but this one, oh boy!  The texture it's perfect. Don't dry or crack and the pigmented color, well,  it's really long lasting.

Real Techniques - The Core Collection  |  Let's say, these little fellas makes the whole skin prep process really quick.

Lush Santa's Lip Scrub  |  A cola flavour lip scrub with a berry red tint. I've been using this after taking off a bold lip and also before bed with a little lip balm to make sure things are smooth the next morning, specially in these cold days.

THE 70s COMEBACK

New year, new SS15 campaigns. And the past week was an epic one in the fashion industry. That's right, as we wave hello to a new year, we also welcome in the season's hottest new ad campaigns. My favs are definitely the amazing Joan Didion for Céline and the legendary 70s singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.

Continuing the movement to recruit cultural icons for luxury ad campaigns Saint Laurent has taken the lead announcing  Joni Mitchell as the latest star of their Music Project. The black and white images were shot by Saint Laurent's creative director  Hedi Slimane and more are set for release later this month.

Probably the coolest campaign of all time, Céline has enlisted the 80 year old novelist and cutting edge style icon Joan Didion for their SS15 campaign. Shot by Juergen Teller, the campaign also features the french dancer Marie Agnes Gillot and model Freya Lawrence.

After these news, we can only have a great week!

THE NEW YEAR PAMPER MENU

I know glitter season has come to an end but I'm never ready to say goodbye to the sparkles. Although red and gold are a very Christmassy combo, this OPI 'I'm not really a waitress' shade  (love the name!!) it's the first red I like in years (I haven't put a red shade on my nails in almost 10 years, weird right?!). So, why not give it a try in this new beginning ahead with some Ladurée colourful bits I brought with me from Geneva.

PASTEL HEAVEN WITH FENDI

The first visual for Fendi's SS15 starring Lindsay Wixson and shot by Karl Lagerfeld is out. 20 year old Wixson, known for her usual doll like features was captured by Fendi's creative director Karl Lagerfeld for its new campaign. Really lovin' the big retro curls and over exaggerated dark smokey eyes. The full campaign is expected to be out in shortly.

Have a lovely week y'all and hope that the first Monday of the year is being kind to you. I'm back from Switzerland wonderland and I'm already missin' it a lot.
